Green space is an important part of urban ecosystems. Therefore, the speedy change of green space impacted local ecological system, including biodiversity, and the stable. With the past experience, green space has never been protected for the improvement of the quality of life.
Green space planning in Taiwan was restricted by conservative urban planning. This study was based on the theory of green infrastructure, and raises the key factors of construction of green infrastructure. Green infrastructure is the interconnected network of open spaces and natural areas, such as graveyard, wetlands, parks, forests, farms, vacant lands, and so on. We must learn how to not only with our folks but also with the other living creatures, and to coexist with all of them. Attempt to incorporate the values of sustainable development in present urban planning system.
The empirical investigation was carried out in Nanzih District, analysis by Geographic Information Systems combine with overlaid related-maps. To analyze the landscape pattern and identify the type of patch, corridor and matrix landscape elements. Link and enhance existing green resources in the city. Then to give propose and improvement for the suitable location of constructing urban Green Infrastructure Network.
