In order to achieve the purpose of steel at the lowest cost design. The steel structure optimization design section are box-shape column and I- shape beam. The total volume of the steel is the objective function. The design variables are beam and column type. Supplemented by building wind-resistant design code,seismic design code and steel structures code. Using the inter story drift, the top-level acceleration, limit layer shear strength, columns members strength, the beam members strength and beam-column moment strength as the constrain to assess the reasonable section properties and to comply with the requirements of security and economy.
