Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 機械工程系 === 100 === In this paper, the closed die forming process is used to fabricate the dental abutment which is a crucial component of dental implant system. To perform high dimensional accuracy and keep high surface quality in the small parts, cold forging process was conducted. The forging process has the following advantages: time-consuming, high precision, mass production, high efficiency and lost cost. Aluminum alloy was selected to forge in this study. Different dimensions of length with different stroke were used to investigate the formability. Moreover, the variation of hardness of forged parts was also discussed. A finite element analysis (FEA) was built and process parameters such as punch speed and stroke associated with formability were studied. The results of this study revealed that the dental abutments were successfully formed. Moreover, numerical results have a good agreement with experimental results.
