Participants were 69 university and graduate students of Northern Taiwan. Both qualitative and quantitative methods including surveys sand content analyses were used in this study. Correlation analyses and regression analyses were used to examine the research questions of this study. It was found that “theory-laden” could significantly and positively predict subjects’ “individual consideration” while making decisions about socio scientific issues. And the “global consideration” for social cultural issues could significantly and positively predict their persistent wills to enter the damaged nuclear power to repair the equipments. Furthermore, the “information need” for social scientific issues and social cultural issues were significantly and positively correlated with each other. Based on the above results, this study suggested future studies to explore different types of “science-related issues”, such as “scientific issues”, “social scientific issues” and “social cultural issues”. Finally, future studies can also examine students’ information needs for different types of science-related issues. Meng-Jung Tsai 蔡孟蓉 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 87 zh-TW
