Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 建築系 === 100 === Fire Doors Compliance Audit is one of Architect’s statutory responsibilities of Construction Inspection. Documents, including Supplier’s qualification, technical documents and samples’ testing certificates, must be verified against relevant building regulations and bid terms. Further, physical products have to be authenticated as Architect and Contractor are required to jointly guarantee that fire doors installed on site are fully compliant.
It is this study’s Objective to propose an effective framework and practical operational procedure for Architect’s Fire Door Compliance Audit. After a brief review of existing literature and a detailed analysis of the Author’s extensive working experience of Fire Door Compliance Audit, it will conclude with a two-stage procedure:
(1) documentation audit before installation;
(2) selective fire testing after installation.
While the main purpose of documentation audit is to verify both Supplier’s qualification and samples’ testing certificates, that of fire testing of fully assembled fire doors is to ascertain their consistency with their attached certificates.
The proposed procedure will help Architect to effectively minimise its occupational liabilities. It should further deter the use of non-compliant products and thus safeguard the public’s life and property.
