In this study, an augmented reality was designed to assist the architecture guidance system. The learning efficiency, motivation, satisfaction and marketing of volunteers using the assisted architecture guidance system were also investigated and discussed. Sanchiaoyung Historic District was chosen as the study case. The augmented reality was utilized to introduce the history, culture and architecture of Sanchiaoyung, and to attempt to extend the local cuisine in Sanchiaoyung Historic District. Volunteers were randomly divided into Experiment Group and Control Group, implementing “augmented reality guidance systems” and “Sanhsia tourist map” respectively. The volunteers were asked to fill in questionnaire, whose results were applied in single sample T-test. The results showed that the volunteers of Experiment Group are significantly better than that of Control Group on learning efficiency, motivation, satisfaction and marketing.
