However, two challenges remain in its application. This first challenge is related to the translation of spatial configuration into an abstracted network model. The second challenge lies in the outputs of this spatial network analytical method in which the characteristics of the spatial network are not articulated in a straightforward manner. It is especially so when meanings in multiple spatial scales need to be draw from them. With full understanding of the significance of the application of Topology theory in architectural research, the study attempted to improve the clarity of spatial network analysis by using ORA (Organization risk analyzer) instead. ORA was originally developed for the network analysis of human organization. Its terms for network analysis were designed to describe human relationship, and thus, more intuitive to human understanding. The recently destructed XiaoLin village was used as the study case. This village was hit by a serious landslide and buried under it. Out of 545 total residential population, only 79 survive this tragedy, most of them working in the city at the time of landslide. The survivors were forced to rebuild their homes somewhere else. All they want is to rebuild a community as in their memory; however they were separated into three settlements by different opinions. The continuation of their culture and way of living is facing an unforeseeable future. Through face-to-face interviews with the survivors and questionnaires, the spatial organizations of XiaoLin village , both in community and residence level, were reconstructed from their memories. Using ORA, the characteristics as well as the evolution of the spatial organization of the XioLin village, old and relocated ones, were identified in various spatial scales. It was then used successfully to explain the dissatisfactory responds from some of the survivors regarding their new residences, although these structures were built in good quality.
