description 碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 書畫藝術學系造型藝術碩士班 === 100 === The thesis is titled with "Wetland Flavor –The Study on Chinese Brush Painting". Hereby, the importance of water is enhanced, aiming to awaken people to treasure and protect water resources. The wetland thus will be no longer savage and wild, but a place full of inexhaustible creative ideas, including animals and plants in the water area, flowers and trees beside water, oyster breeding and fishing on which people rely on, sea reclaiming, and the struggling spirit against the sea. Mr. Li Keran once said that creation is based on every unique treasure in the nature. Based on the spirit of "Learning from the Nature", I always explore all breeds and brands in the beautiful wetland, including flagrant ginger lily, linden hibiscus with yellow flowers and reed catkins nodding in the wind. Living beside water, these plants add graceful bearing to the wetland, and become the subjects in my creations. In addition, the mangrove forest in Baliwatzuwei Wetland, expresses the knight spirit of defending the coastline against the hard environment. It also shows the beauty of green and natural flavors of the old Banyan trees in Szutsao, Tainan and the aged and eternal beauty of Oweko Wetland where Ephedra lying everywhere. All these works are the true reflection of the spirit of "Learning from the Nature". Waterfowls are painted based on what I have seen or photographed, including shore birds, chocobos, terns, teals, cranes, etc., adding vividness to the works. This study covers the wetlands along the western coast, including Szutsao Wetland and Chiku Wetland in Tainan, Oweko Wetland in Tung-shi Hsiang of Chiayi County, Cing-sheui Wetland in Taichung, and Baliwatzuwei Wetland in Taipei. In addition, the Beauty of Lotus and Willow is based on the artificial wetland under Yongfu Bridge along Keelung River, while two pieces of the Coast Series are the Beauty of Northern Coast and Rocky Coast of Peace Island. He poems in the works are quoted from anthologies through the ages, where some are quoted completely, and some are revised and extracted, while others are trial works, aiming to meet the Chinese Brush Painting state of "the perfect integration of painting and poetry”. The aesthetic thoughts of "Man Is an Integral Part of Nature" and "Learning from the Nature" in this study are also expressed in the works, forming the creation and study with both theory and practice, which is exactly the goal and spirit of this thesis.
