Bridges across the gap of the regions, they are not only the important structures to link the districts in city, but also a symbols and a marks of city. It become an important issue that how to use artificial light to reshape the unique character of the city. This study of reviewed the nightly life culture, the concept of lighting design and applications, and the aesthetics of the bridge structure, and then generalize the key items for analyzing the lighting design. Furthermore, using the key items to analysis different types of bridgescape lighting case, and summarized the principles of bridgescape lighting design. This study selects Kao-Ping-Hsi Cable-Stayed Bridge and Kao-ping Bridge as the simulation sites. Base on the lighting design principles and site’s characteristics as previously studied to development different programs and apply to the simulation sites. The result could be the reference of bridgescape lighting design model. According to literature review, the results of multi-case studies, and simulated operation process, developing a bridgescape lighting design process, which consists of three parts: (1) Environment and bridge-type analyzing (2) lighting design programs planning (3) bridgescape lighting design. For the technical aspect,, bridgescape lighting design need to consider (1 ) design guidelines and regulations (2) glare control (3) energy efficiency (4) the impact of ecology and the natural environment; for the aesthetical aspect, it should consider (1) coordination with the surrounding environment (2) the characteristics of the bridge type, (3) focal point selection of bridgescape lighting design (4) lighting skills used, (5) color (6) three-dimensional. Bridgescape lighting has became an important value-added, and future trends in bridgescape lighting design.
