This research includes three topics: exploring meanings of media rural idyll, analyzing media contents of new rural lifestyle, and examining media rurality and class. Social semiotics and discourse analysis, supplemented by corpus linguistics are methodology adopted in achieving these research goals. The result of this research will contribute the discussion of media rurality for the Rural Studies and the Media Studies in Taiwan significantly.
