The subjects of this research were 630 junior high school students were sampled with Probability Proportionate to Size Sampling Method (PPS), and 605 responses were collected. The response rate was 96%. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA and multiple regression analysis. The main findings of this research were as follows: 1.(1)Psychological Adjustment of junior high school student in New Taipei City is good. (2)Depression tendency of junior high school student in New Taipei City is mild. (3)Drug use behaviors of junior high school student in New Taipei City is as follows: Cigarette: “never use” (85.4%);”used before” (10.2%);”using now” (4.4%). Alcohol: “never use” (51.8%);”used before” (30.2%);”using now” (17.9%). Betel nut: “never use” (94.9%);”used before” (3.2%);”using now” (1.9%). Drug: “never use” (98.8%);”used before” (0.3%);”using now” (0.8%). 2. There is no significance between different sex on psychological adjustment and depression tendency. However significance is found on drug use behaviors. 3. Grade differences are found significant on psychological adjustment , depression tendency and drug use behaviors. 4. There is no significance between different parental education on depression tendency. However significance is found on psychological adjustment and drug use behaviors. 5. Parents’ rearing attitude differences are found significant on psychological adjustment , depression tendency and drug use behaviors. 6. Junior high school students’ psychological adjustment and depression tendency show significant negative correlation to each other. 7. Junior high school students’ psychological adjustment and drug use behaviors show significant negative correlation to each other. 8. Junior high school students’ depression tendency and drug use behaviors show significant correlation to each other. 9. The predictabilities of psychological adjustment and depression tendency on drug use behaviors were significant. In addition, depression tendency was the most dominant factor in predicting drug use behaviors. Psychological adjustment and depression tendency were the significant predictors and explained 4.6 % of cigarette, 5.8% of alcohol, 2.5% of betel nut, 0.8% of drug. Finally, based on the findings of the research, there are some suggestions for the parents, social and education administration institutes as well as the future researches. Abstract
