Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 兒童英語教育學系碩士班 === 100 === This research aimed to investigate the current situation of the motivation and satisfaction of New Taipei City elementary school English teachers participating in master’s programs. In addition, it also examined the differences of several variables (i.e. gender, educational background, teaching experiences and teacher’s duty). A questionnaire of the current situation of the motivation and satisfaction of New Taipei City elementary school English teachers participating in master's programs was adopted, and 217 public elementary school English teachers in New Taipei City participated in the study. Descriptive statistics, t-test, and One-way ANOVA were used to analyze data. Main findings of this research were summarized as follows:
1. The motivation of New Taipei City elementary school English teachers participating in master's programs was above average; however, the satisfaction was below average.
2. In the dimensions of learning motivation, the English teachers gave external expectations the highest score, and professional knowledge learning the lowest.
3. No significant difference in learning motivation was found between genders and teacher’s duties.
4. A significant difference between educational backgrounds was found in external expectations, social service, and social relations in learning motivation.
5. Status promotion and external expectations in learning satisfaction were significant when taken teaching experiences into account.
6. In the dimensions of learning satisfaction, Education professional knowledge was scored the highest, and research ability the lowest.
7. Educational profession attitude and subject domain professional knowledge in learning satisfaction were statistical significance between genders.
8. The difference of educational backgrounds, teaching experiences and teacher’s duties in learning satisfaction, did not reach significant level.
According to the above findings, the research provided suggestions to educational administration, school administration, and further researchers.
