Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 台灣文化研究所 === 100 === On UNESCO Atlas of the World's Languages in Danger, existing Taiwan Aboriginal languages have all been listed in the endangered level. Taiwan, occuping an important position in Austronesian, should be positive to retain valuable language assets for the world. Since 1995, Ministry of Education was announced that local culture studies should be included in the compulsory education. Until 2001, Grade1-9 Curriculum further requires that there would be one lesson a week of local language courses. The predicaments of language teaching and learning in education site worth to be researched. This study uses content analysis, participant observation and interviews to analyze seven of primary Bunun textbooks published by the units above county level and practice with a first-grade student learning Bunun for one year. Besides, it also intends to understand the current status of the aboriginal language learning by interviewing students, parents and aboriginal language teachers. According to the editting form and content, I found all the seven materials have both advantages and disadvantages. The old versions of textbooks still have their value.Digital technology has its characteristics distinct from treeware. Both of them can be amended to be the auxiliaries and supplements on current aboriginal language textbooks. The exploration of aboriginal language teaching from those points of view of the learner, the educator, the collaborator, adding the interview materials. I concluded that we need to raise the salary and education of the teachers of aboriginal language teachers. The resource from families, communities and schools has great influence on students’ learning. Unless we put a lot more resource and efforts into the aboriginal education teaching, we can never retain the native language from extiction. Finally, according to the study result I propose some relevant recommendations of language education and the future research for the followers.
