Information System in Taoyuan County
Abstract
The objective of this research is to explore the current situation of the use of school information system by educational personnel in Taoyuan elementary schools and the problems they encountered. The theoretical framework of Extended Technology Acceptance Model was adopted to analyze the elements which affect the use of school information system by educational personnel. Questionnaire of the Survey Research on the Use of School Information System by Educational Personnel in Taoyuan Elementary Schools compiled by the researchers was utilized as the research tool. The population of this research was the educational personnel in Taoyuan county public elementary schools. The school scale was divided into four types: (1)below 12 classes; (2)13-24 classes ; (3)25-48 classes ; (4) over 49 classes. 60 schools were selected to be researched. The questionnaires were distributed to educational personnel including the principals, administrative staff, section chiefs of information technology, homeroom teachers, subject teachers. Finally, statistics and analysis were performed on the returned questionnaires.
1. Relationship between subject and work, voluntary, experience and perceived ease of use are the main external variables which affect the behavior intention of the use of school information system by educational personnel in Taoyuan elementary schools.
2. Perceived ease of use is the important intervening variable which affects the behavior intention of the use of school information system by educational personnel in Taoyuan elementary schools.
3. Information security maintenance of school administrative system is the most difficult dimension in the behavior intention of the use of school administration system by educational personnel in Taoyuan elementary schools; Share and interaction between colleagues are the most urgent demands.
4. The difference of difficulties and demands isn’t big when the educational personnel in Taoyuan elementary schools use various service systems. Only the education and training of other systems have a higher level of demand.
5. There is a limit of adopting Extended Technology Acceptance Model to explain the behavior intention of the use of school information system by educational personnel in Taoyuan elementary schools; local school structures and cultural features aren’t considered.
Based on above conclusions, recommendations have been made to Taoyuan competent education authority, schools, educational personnel and they can be used as references for future related studies.
