Participants: 649 senior graders in elementary schools in New Taipei City. Method: the measures consisted Sports Participation Inventory, Emotional Intelligence Inventory and School Bullying Behaviors Inventory. The collected data were analyzed by Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient and Multiple Regression Analysis. Results: 1. Sports participation and emotional intelligence are positively correlated. Sports participation and bullying behaviors are negatively correlated. Emotional intelligence bullying behaviors are negatively correlated. 2. Sports participation predicted emotional intelligence, including the management of interpersonal relationship, self-encouragement, recognition of self-emotion, awareness of other’s emotion, well management of self-emotion and adjustment and reflection of emotion . 3. Sports participation predicted bullying behaviors, including physical bullying, verbal bullying, relational bullying, sexual bullying and reactive bullying . 4. Emotional intelligence predicted bullying behaviors, including physical bullying, verbal bullying, relational bullying, sexual bullying and reactive bullying. 5. Emotional intelligence demonstrated the partial moderating effect between sports participationand and bullying behaviors.
