The study employs an action research method. The participants in this study include a child with autism, his young sister and mother. The data of the study were collected from observations, audio recordings, video recordings and interviews during three months pilot study and five months intervention in participants’ home. The main research findings are as following: 1. When parents understand autism characteristics, they can guide successfully sibling interaction. 2. Besides creating interaction opportunities and environment in play, parents setting up the model of play with the child with autism also can promote the frequency and quality of sibling interaction. 3. Play activities promote the motive of sibling interaction, and advance sibling affections. Based on above findings and reflection, some suggestions were made for future research.
