Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 音樂學系碩士班 === 100 === Ludwing van Beethoven(1770-1827) is generally acknowledged as the giant of classical music; and he was also a pivotal figure in the transition between the musical classicalism and romanticism. Beethoven's compositional career is usually divided into early, middle, and late periods. Piano sonata Opus 27 No.2 is one of his important works of the early period. Beethoven felt desire to break the typical sonata form by using Adagio as the First Movement and marked《Sonata quasi una fantasia》.
This thesis focuses on Beethoven’s piano sonata Opus 27 No.2(Moonlight), covering five chapters. Chapter 1 and chapter 2 contain a brief overview of Beethoven’s life, development of the piano sonata, and the feature and characteristic of Beethoven’s early period piano sonatas. Chapter 3 is the creative background and analysis of this sonata. Chapter 4 discusses the performance interpretation of this sonata. Based on analyses completed in previous chapters, chapter 5 is the conclusion. Having in-depth understandings of Beethovon and piano sonata Opus 27 No.2, it is believed that better performance of this piece is achieved.
