The study conducts the content analysis through purposive selection of a total of 40 picture books with the theme of “sharing”. The major research tool is based on theories as well as the category of sharing behavioral types, the category of sharing behavioral motives, and the category of sharing behavioral application rules compiled in accordance with the contents of picture books. The results of the analysis can be concluded as below: I.In the sharing behavioral types of picture books, the ratio of “sharing articles” is the highest, followed by “sharing capabilities”, the third for “inviting or promising others to participate in activities”, and the “honoring individuals and groups” has the least ratio. II.In the sharing behavioral motives of picture books, the “empathy” appeared mostly frequently, followed by “expressing wishes”, the third for “emotional relationship, and the “rewarding” has the minimum occurrence. III.In the application rules of sharing behavior of picture books, the “right” appeared mostly frequently and then followe by “empathy”, “reciprocity”, “fairness”, and “setting rules”. IV.In the description of the end, the result of conflict sharing presented the interaction of harmony, consummation, and happiness which is in line with the positive educational function of a picture book and also covers the educational meaning in it. Finally, based on the research results, the study presents conclusions and recommendations to future researchers and personnel related to the picture books for reference. Abstract
The purpose of this study is to understand the sharing behavioral types, the sharing behavioral motives and the application rules of sharing behavior for picture books with the theme of “sharing” published in Taiwan.
