At the first stage,the finite element method was used to analyze and design a weakening groove of flexible fixture .The polishing tool head with modulate stiffness was the developed. An integrated process strategy was developed of based on mold material polishing characteristics and accuracy requirements. In order to achieve the setting goals of form accuracy and surface roughness, the overall process is divided into the starting process, the middle process and the final process in terms of the efficiency and performance of the processes. A series of experiments were executed,the experiment results showed that the surface roughness and form accuracy can be obtained up to Ra0.006 um,Rmax0.080 um, as well as PV values 0.84 um respectively. The polishing factors affecting mirror-like surface were studied and the improvement strategy for satisfying the requirements of the form accuracy was thus established,. Through the spectrum analysis scheme, the large, medium and small waves components of the surface profile can be improved, that means the accuracy of form, waviness and surface roughness can be respectively compensated up to 83.9%, 82.5% and 80.2%.
