In addition, the Pearson correlation coefficients of the IMFs, and energy-IMF distributions for clinical sharp I, sharp II, sharp III, and normal electroencephalogram (EEG) signals will be discussed. The analysis results show that for the sharp III waves, the ratios of the energy of IMF2, IMF3, IMF4, and IMF5 waves to the refereed total energy were larger than 10%, respectively. We discuss the the frequency-energy distributions of the intrinsic mode functions (IMFs), the mean, standard deviation, and maximum, and minimum frequencies of the IFs for the clinical sharp III EEG signals recorded from epilepsy subjects. The ratios of the energy for several IMFs of the sharp III EEG waves in the δ band to their corresponding total refereed energy were analyzed. The energy in the time interval 0.4 to 0.6 s in the δ band for IMF5 of the sharp III wave is 5.88% of the refereed total sharp III wave energy.
