Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣海洋大學 === 河海工程學系 === 100 === This study will use the piston-type wavemaker and medium water tank provided by the ocean Harbor and River Engineering College of Engineering National Taiwan Ocean University, which purposes include, first, both the wave stability and characteristic for water tank. Second, we will find the relationship between the displacement of wavemaker and wave height for the reference of study about virtual nature sea area. As found from the research, the best length for the incidence wave forming the wavemaker is 5m long. Under all those circumstance, it makes fewer differences between water tanks. It is unstable when the wave is 3m apart from the wavemaker. When it comes to the characteristic of wavemaker, the water depth will become deeper as the wavemaker plank gets smaller. With different wave conditions, the stroke of the wavemaker will become smaller when the period is larger.
