Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 台灣語文學系 === 100 === Tâi-Bûn Thong-Sìn, Taiwanese Forum, a monthly publication established in 1991, advocates that the Taiwanese people should speak Taiwanese and write in Taiwanese. The cause was upheld by overseas Taiwanese. Tâi-Bûn Thong-Sìn set up its Taiwan head office in 1992. In 1996, The Taiwanese Writing Forum of Tâi-Bûn Thong-Sìn established the Tâi-Bûn BONG Pò magazine. Then in 1997, the Lí Kang Khioh Taiwanese Cultural &; Educational Foundation was founded with the funds donated by the readers of Tâi-Bûn Thong-Sìn and Tâi-Bûn BONG Pò. It aims to give impetus to the language revitalization movements for the mother tongues of Taiwan and to promote literature written in the native languages of Taiwan. By integrating the strength of many volunteers, it also gets involved in quite a few related tasks in the hope that the mother tongues of Taiwan can be successfully revitalized.
This thesis mainly studies the Lí Kang Khioh Taiwanese Cultural &; Educational Foundation to explore the development trajectory from the birth of Tâi-Bûn Thong-Sìn to the establishment of the foundation and to analyze the role the foundation plays in the movements for revitalizing the mother tongues of Taiwan, presenting the situation of the language revitalization movements since the 1990s. Hopefully it can make up for part of the deficiency in the written history of social movements in Taiwan.
