The aims of the research are: 1. to examines the parents’ sports values; 2. to figure out the differences of sports values among parents, with different demographic backgrounds; 3. to know the parents' roles when they attended after school program; 4. to observe the differences of parent’s roles in terms of their demographic backgrounds; 5. to recognize the differences between the parent’s roles and the sports values when they attended after school program. Questionnaires were spread out to the parents whose children have attended soccer club in northern or southern Taiwan. Data were collected from May to August 2011, with 391 valid questionnaire returned. The research uses descriptive statistics, cluster analysis, one-way analysis of variance and Scheffe's test. The results are as follows: 1. Parents highly recognize the importance of sports values, especially in moral sports value, which was ranked as the highest; 2. Parents with different demographic backgrounds had significant differences only in terms of boosting their self-confidence and their sense of achievement together with their companions in personal sports values; 3. In terms of the roles of parents who attended after school program, most of them served as tutors, while some are the information acceptors, and the rest perceived themselves as the learners; 4. After the study of the roles of different demographic backgrounds’s parents who attended after school program, the significant differences appeared in between the parents serving as tutors in inspiring the interest of technical courses and serving as learners in educational readings; 5. The well-rounded parents have the highest recognition towards sports values when attending after school program. Finally, based on the research results, we provide some suggestions for educational organizations, school administrators, and the parents of the soccer club as well as the future researchers.
