Description
Summary:博士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 中國文學系研究所 === 100 === This research divides Chan Kan Chuan’s philosophy into four stages.Firstly, the initial stage: learning from the eminent scholar Chen Hsien Chang in Chan’s early years.Secondly, the progressive stage: advocating “A Learning Both Sound in Theory and Practice” in Chan’s age of 50.Thirdly, the stable stage: establishing the theory objective on “Experiencing Heavenly Principle Everywhere”.Fourthly, the accomplished stage: returning to the philosophy of “The Natural” (Tzu-jan). The above mentioned are the keys of chapter 2, 3 and 5 in this essay and chapter 4 probes Chan’s Mind-nature Theory and Li-qi Theory. Finally, this essay claims that although Chan can be classified as a member of Mind School, his emphasis on “Heavenly Principle” makes his theory different from Wang Yang Ming’s Mind School. Therefore, Chan’s philosophy can be concluded as seeking a balanced School of mind-heart between “Mind” and “Principle”.
