Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 體育學系碩士班 === 100 === The study mainly explores the status quo, the physical and mental awareness, and the degree of actual exercise of elementary school teachers participating in the leisurely somatosensory game–Wii, as well as the correlation between the degree of participation in the somatosensory game-Wii and that in the actual exercise. A questionnaire survey was conducted using a self-designed questionnaire of Participation of Elementary School Teachers in the Somatosensory Game-Wii and Recreational Sports. Objects chosen for the study are teachers from elementary schools located within the Districts of Hunei, Chiating and Yungan in Kaohsiung City; a census approach was employed for the survey. A total of 307 questionnaires were valid, posting a valid response rate of 93.88%. SPSS statistical software package was used for analysis and comparison of the data obtained form the survey. The following statistical methods were employed for data analysis: descriptive statistics, chi-square test, t-test and one-way ANOVA. The study findings are as shown below: 1. Around 27.7% of elementary school teachers in this study possess their own somatosensory game (Wii) machine. Regardless of male or female teachers, the majority of them play Wii once a week on average, and playing Wii for approximately 30 minutes every time has the highest ratio in the study. The three most frequently played sports games are baseball, tennis and bowling for male teachers and bowling, tennis and table-tennis for female teachers. 2. Teachers with Ph.D. degree pay more attention to the health-related physical fitness than those with master degree in terms of participation in the somatosensory game-Wii. 3. The conditions of elementary school teachers’ participation in actual exercises: male teachers spending at least 90 minutes in recreational sports on a weekly basis took up 69%, while this is true for 49.3% of female teachers. Exercises frequently taken by male teachers are jogging, cycling and basketball, while the exercises frequently taken by female teachers are jogging, cycling, aerobics and yoga. The main factors hindering them from exercising include: lack of time, family commitments, personalities, lack of companionship. 4. As regards the physical and mental self-awareness of elementary school teachers participating in the somatosensory game (Wii), teachers paying more attention to physical fitness oriented sports would show a higher inclination for actual exercise. Some exercise-oriented somatosensory games (Wii) are correlated to the actual exercise. Elementary school teachers having barriers from obtaining recreational sports may temporarily make use of the somatosensory game (Wii) in place of the recreational sports, thereby maintaining their physical and mental health.
