Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 數位學習科技學系碩士班 === 100 === With the rapid progress of mobile and wireless network technologies, educational settings and strategies have been significantly changed. Learning environments are no longer limited to classrooms; instead, the importance of conducting learning activities for knowledge construction through interaction with the physical environments has been emphasized. Researchers have indicated that students who have good motivation in the learning process will facilitate their learning performance. Moreover, competition could be one of the most important factors to effectively enhance their learning motivation. Therefore, this study attempts to conduct mobile learning activities with a real-world context-based competition game. An experiment has been conducted on an elementary school butterfly ecology course to explore the effectiveness of the proposed approach in terms of learning motivation and learning performance. The experimental results show that conducting mobile learning activities with the competition game approach can stimulate students'' learning motivation and improve their learning performance in comparisons wth the conventional mobile learning approach.
