Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 音樂學系碩士班 === 100 === The music of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) represents the transition of styles from Classical to Romantic eras. He expanded the boundary of Classical style and explore new ideas and techniques of compositions. As a result of that, he influenced composers of later years. Beethoven wrote eleven piano trios throughout his life, and these pieces can be perceived as representative models of his stylistic development. This thesis focuses on Beethoven’s 《Piano Trio No. 7 in B-flat Major, Op. 97》, and contains five chapters. The first chapter defines the scope of the thesis, including the purpose, process, and method of research, chapter two explores his life, general music styles, and compositional techniques from different periods. The third chapter gives a brief introduction of Beethoven’ music of different genres and explore the general styles of his piano trios. Chapter four analyses his《Piano Trio No. 7 in B-flat Major, Op. 97》from the different aspects, including harmonic vocabulary, formal structure, modulatory techniques, melody, and so on. The last chapter concludes this thesis.
