Yound children from eight kindergartens in Tainan and Kaohsiung kindergarten children(N=120) aged 4 to 6.5(i.e six years seven months) for the study, the researcher“geometric shape recognition of mission,, as a research tool. Interviews with child care geometry recognition criteria. Analyzing from 120 children geometric shape recognition development, the findings of this study were as follows:
(1)Children of different ages on the geometry of the recognition that some of the differences, in a circular task is the age difference, 5.5-year-old children performed better than 4-year-old children.(2) Children of different ages in the geometry of the kinds of questions are some differences, especially in the open-ended and similar of questions, the 5.5-year-old children''s performance is better than 4-year-old children.(3) Children of different gender recognize geometric shape there is difference, in open-end of questions the boys better than girls.(4) Children to recognition geometry criteria more than the visual response.(5) Young children to the graphic property as a criterion, Open-end kinds of questions and more closed or as a criterion, Similar kinds of questions is the way to sideline or the graphic qualities of these two graphic property as criteria.(6) Young children to other reactions as the criterion most frequently of all age groups.
