Lin has abundant of literary works and is extraordinary in the composition of adolescent novels. The thesis takes Lin Zhong-Long’s adolescent novels as instance to explore its literary connotation and value. The thesis studies Lin Zhong-Long’s adolescent novels from three aspects to elucidate the writing characteristics. First is the theme which can be concluded as friendship, family, and self-actualization. Second is the character images, discussing the differences of character images among the leading role, the elders, and the peer. Third is the writing techniques, discussing its narrative qualities, narrative perspectives and narrative structure. The study discovers the writing characteristics in Lin Zhong-Long’s adolescent novels as follows. First is the positive theme which is not only diverse, but also inspire the reader besides of conveying the writer’s idea and value. Second is the vivid character images portrayed by the appearance, motion, conversation and the monologue depicting the lively characters. Third is the distinguishing writing techniques that are brilliant and present extraordinary features.
