Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 教育學系課程與教學碩士班 === 100 === The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of an elderly-appreciation program for seventh graders’ attitude toward elderly adults. An elderly-apprecition program was developed and administered by the researcher. Twenty-nine seventh graders in one junior high school in Taichung city , including 16 male and 13 female students, were involved in this study. Instruction of the elederly-appreciation program lasted for 12 consecutive weeks in 2012. Students took the “Questionnaire of junior high school students’ attitude toward elderly adults” before and after the experiment for the purpose of understanding the results after introducing an elderly-appreciation program. After systematically analyzing the results of the questionnaire, interview transcripts, field notes of observation, the reflection journal of the researcher, and the transcripts of the teaching video, the study had following findings:. a. After participating in the elderly-appreciation program specially designed for seventh graders, students improved their attitude toward elderly adults significantly. b. Classroom activities (e.g. experience-sharing by elderly adults, dream-pursuing films of elderly adults) ehhanced the development of students’ positive images toward elderly adults. c. By Intergenerational contacts, students established friendly relationships and positive ineractions with elderly adults. d.By discussing in the elderly-appreciation program, students inspired motivation to reflect on their attitude toward elderly adults.
