Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 永續觀光暨遊憩管理研究所 === 100 === The purpose of the study is to investigate recreationists’ coping response toward perceived conflict in outdoor recreation settings. In addition, the Experience Use History (EUH) will be used as a moderator to examine whether the moderating effects are significant between the relationship of recreation conflict and coping mechanism. The specific objectives are as follows: 1. to understand the relationships among mountain bikers’ sociodemographic characters, recreation conflict, coping mechanism and EUH; 2. to investigate the causal relationships between recreation conflict and coping mechanism; 3. to construct and validate the structural relationships between recreation conflict and coping mechanism. 4. to verify EUH as a moderator between recreation conflict and coping mechanism. A total of 310 valid questionnaires were collected through Next to Pass survey from mountain bikers at the Changcing bike path in Pa-Kua Mountain. In general, there were significant differences among mountain bikers’ socio-demographic characters, recreation conflict, coping mechanism and EUH. The overall modified model was well fit the data. After the Strutural Equation Modeling, the result showed that recreation conflict positively and significantly influence on coping mechanism. Furthermore, the experienced users, who are high frequency of use (Locals and Veterans) will be reinforced the positive effect of recreation conflict on coping mechanism. Based on the results above, some managerial suggestions for mountain bikers will be proposed, future research directions will also be discussed.
