碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 諮商與應用心理學系碩士班 === 100 === The main purpose of this study was to explore the relationship among parents’ attachment, personality traits and depression for the college students. The instruments used were Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment, External Control Personality Traits Scale, Neuroticism Personality Traits Scale, and Taiwanese Depression Questionnaire. The subjects of this study consist of 14 colleges in northern, southern, and central Taiwan. The 997 college students in total were chosen by convenient sampling. The statistic data were analyzed by the descriptive statistics, T-tests, One-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation and multiple regression analysis. The results were shown as below: 1.There was significant difference of gender on mother attachment. 2.There was significant difference of gender on external control personality trait and neuroticism personality trait. 3.There was significant difference of grade level on father attachment. 4.There were significant correlations among mother attachment, father attachment, external control personality trait, neuroticism personality and depression. 5.Mother attachment, external control personality trait and neuroticism personality trait could significantly predict depression. Based on the above findings, suggestions to schools, counseling institutions and future studies are presented.
