The study conducted a sampling, consisted of a pre-test sample (n=231), a re-test sample (n=138), and formal sample (n=813). The instrument of the study included the MLS, the DFS (dispositional flow scale), the PWB (Psychological Well-Being Scale), and the SWLS (The Satisfaction With Life Scale). The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, item analysis, product-moment correlation analysis, one-way MANOVA, and confirmatory factor analysis by SPSS and LISREL. The results of the study were listed as follows: 1. The MLS consists of 18 items, including three factors: Pursuiting wisdom and knowledge, exercising strengths at work, and emboding the goodness of life attitude. 2. The Cronbach α of the MLS subscales ranged from .69 to .80, and .86 for the whole scale. And the test-retest reliability coefficients over a 2-week period ranging from .68 to .82, and .80 for the whole scale. Finally, the composite reliability coefficients were ranging from .69 to .81. In summary, these coefficients of the MLS showed the good reliability. 3. The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed the MLS had a good construct validity. Concerning criterion-related validity, the correlation coefficient of the MLS-PWB was .42, and that of the MLS-DFS was .39, and that meant the MLS III had a good validity. 4. The study have found that the university students tended to score higher on the factor of the pursuit of wisdom and knowledge. In addition, no gender differences were found in the MLS.
