Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 幼兒教育學系碩士班 === 100 === The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of implementing creative theater activities by teachers, and examining the multiple capabilities young children exhibit while participating in the creative theater activities.
As the main research group for this study, the researcher chose a class of kindergarten children, all ranging from five to six years old, from a public kindergarten institution where the researcher serves as their primary teacher. The study took place over a three month period, where children's creative theater activities were implemented into the class four times each week, for a total of thirty-six times. The researcher documented the results of the study through observation, record keeping through the use of teaching journals, video and audio digital recordings, and interviews with the children. Through these methods, the researcher can analyze the process of how young children exhibit multiple capabilities while participating in the creative theater activities. The results are as follows:
1.When implementing creative theater activities, the teacher should follow and maintain a proper sequence of progress for the class, creating a beneficial and enjoyable atmosphere for the theater activities.
2.The strategy for teaching methods using creative theater activities should consist of applying simple beginner level theater as warm up activities, and using more advanced level theater as the basis for the purpose of teaching and developing artistic skills and capabilities.
3.Through the course of participating in creative theater activities, young children can improve their ability to express language and speech, body language and movement, prop and accessory making, overall creativity, social intelligence, and problem solving, as examples of developing multiple capabilities.
In conclusion, current teachers, school administrators, and future researchers can use findings of this research for discussion and future reference.
