Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 特殊教育學系碩士在職專班 === 100 === The present study examined the contribution of morphological awareness and Chinese literacy ability to children of immigrant resident and Taiwanese. A total of 91 intermediate graders were assessed on character recognition, reading comprehension, phonological awareness tasks and morphological awareness tasks.
The results of the study show that:
1.Children of immigrant resident and Taiwanese had no significant performance in phonological awareness, morphological awareness and chinese literacy ability.
2.For children of immigrant resident and Taiwanese, phonological awareness, morphological awareness were correlated significantly with character recognition and reading comprehension.
3. Morphological awareness tasks predicted character recognition and reading
comprehension even after phonological awareness were controlled.
