Via the network and snowballing sampling, ten pregnant women were recruited. The way of orally narrated history was adopted to undergo in-depth interviews each of which took 2-3 hours. The women pregnant for 34-40 weeks were interviewed one to two times. The women giving birth about one month ago were interviewed once. Each individual case had been interviewed two to three times. The interview guide was used, which led interviewees to talk about the worries, pressure, and fear and related experiences brought about by pregnancy and birth. According to the research results, it could be found that the fear experienced by the interviewed women during their pregnancy would change with the time of pregnancy. The fear of the unsafe growth of the fetus could be relieved by different responding way of individuals. When such feelings of fear could not be dealt with well, it would be increasingly accumulated until facing birth, thus influencing the reception of birth messages and the ability of responding to birth. The fear of facing birth mainly came from bad messages about birth in surrounding, fearing that the birth process would be uncontrollable. The long process would threaten the fetus, for lacking effective responding measures for birth. When the fear in the period of pregnancy was added by birth, the accumulated fear would become fierce. So when this experienced was extend after birth, the inerasable negative experience of birth would be produced. In addition, the interviewees talked about the insufficiency and lack of supportive medical care during pregnancy and birth. Accordingly, such feelings of fear could not be released, and the bad messages during pregnancy would increase the fear. According to the research results, for the care of pregnant women and women giving birth, we suggested the implication for clinical practice, education, and polices.
