Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北護理健康大學 === 旅遊健康研究所 === 100 === Bed and breakfast (or B &B) played an important role in the continuous development of Taiwan tourist industry. Although prosperous development of bed and breakfast industry brought economic growth, it also caused negative effects on the environment at the same time. As people became more aware of the environmental conservation issues, B&B industry also began to promote eco-environmental concept. Therefore, this research is based on the six aspects of eco-inn proposed by scholars, including green building, sustainable landscape engineering, organic agriculture, environmental education, local benefit and other aspects. The scope and subjects of the study were legal bed and breakfast industry at Yilan district. Simple random sampling method was used to survey legal B&B industry’s knowledge of, attitude toward and willingness to implement eco-inn in Taiwan. The relationship between the three aspects was further explored. 282 questionnaires were issued, 237 valid samples were collected, and effective recovery ratio of questionnaire was 84%.
Research results showed that the rate of right answer of industry’s eco-inn knowledge was 95.82%. Gender and willingness to implement local benefit had significant differences. Age and B&B monthly income showed significant difference with willingness to implement environmental education. Monthly income of B&B showed significant difference with knowledge, attitude, and willingness to implement eco-inn and organic agriculture, but showed no significance with personal education level. The result of correlation analysis showed that the higher the knowledge of eco-inn, the higher the supportive attitude and willingness to implement eco-inn, which means knowledge, supportive attitude and willingness to implement are directly related. Furthermore, the industry’s willingness to implement eco-inn can be predicted through the industry’s knowledge of and supportive attitude toward eco-inn.
The research results can provide B&B industry specific suggestions and methods to build eco-inn in the future, and serve as reference for related government departments to establish policies for bed and breakfast industry.
