Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北商業技術學院 === 國際商務系碩士班 === 100 === Using quantile regression, this study collects the quarterly data to explore the relationship between unemployment, macroeconomic variables, and inflation in Taiwan. The empirical result indicates that the relationship between unemployment rate and inflation rate is negative in Taiwan. This finding is consistent with previous studies. Furthermore, we use quantile regression approach to examine how different level of unemployment rate would affect the inflation rate. The results of the study show that the fluctuation of inflation is stronger when the unemployment rate is lower; the fluctuation of inflation is smaller when the unemployment rate is higher, which verify the relationship between unemployment rate and inflation rate is concave.
