Therefore, easy diagnosis and effective and safe treatment of canine atopic dermatitis should be found for clinician. This research took place in from October, 2007 to June, 2008. Twenty-four dogs were randomly divided into three groups. The first group is the non-atopic controls; The second group is atopic dogs without treatment; The third group is the atopic dogs treated with allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT). When the experiment began, all dogs were analyzed for the concentration of IgG, IgE and the special allergy IgE in the analytic serum and they were also checked for general health, included blood biochemistry, blood cell analysis and parasite examination. In the meantime, skin biopsy was checked by histopathology. The third group was given the allergen-specific immunotherapy treatment. Every month all dogs were drawn blood for determination of IgG, IgE in the analytic serum for consecutive 9 months. The date of this experiment were calculated and analyzed by nonparametrical analysis. In serology, the statistical analysis results of IgG and IgE concentration among all groups did not appear remarkable difference (P>0.0167). According to the record of histopathologic studies, found that the difference of mast cell, number was smaller by 0.0167 in comparison to before immunotherapy P value, which had remarkable difference. It was considered an effective reference in the diagnosis and the treatment of atopic dermatitis. There was no significant difference on both blood biochemistry, blood cell analysis and parasite examination among groups. Therefore, it was very safe for allergen-specific immunotherapy. The results of research provide reference for clinicians to diagnosis atopic dermatitis rapidly. And they providing treatment of atopic dermatitis with allergen-specific immunotherapy are efficient and safe approach. Ching-Dong Chang 張清棟 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 60 zh-TW
