Objective:This study is mainly designed to explore the promotional effectiveness of the intervention of the supportive strategy in the healthy position of Grade 7 obese students in Pingtung County as well as to compare the discrepancy between the intervention model of the supportive strategy and the effectiveness of the healthy body constitution. Methodology: The target subjects in this study are Grade 7 students in some three junior high schools in Pingtung County With reference to the『Obesity Standards for Children and Adolescents』, announced by the Department of Health, the Executive Yuan those Grade 7 male students with BMI≧24.8 and female students with BMI≧24.6 are defined as obese students. There are totally 127 selected examinees.They are assigned at random as the experiment group of 67 students and the control group of 60 ones, who are given the promotional nutrition education, the reinforced exercises training, the buildup of the school supportive environment and the enhancement of the parents’ recognition and intervention for a period of 3 months. The data obtained includes the examinees’ height, weight, BMI, waistline and body fat ratio of their body composition.The body activities, sleeping, sedentariness, diet in the healthy Position questionnaire as well as the confidence, knowledge, body shape and point of view and the way of doing in the healthy position recognition questionnaire are experimental variables. The information analysis is conducted by way of the statistics software SPSS12.0 on the obtained data, along with such statistic methods as the independent-Samples t test, Chi-square Test, Pearson Product-moment Correlation Coefficient and Two-way Mixed Design ANOVA and the statistics significant level is set at α=.05. Results: Although the supportive strategy intervention in the body composition spread of Grade 7 obese students does not attain the significant improvement, it can still make positive impact on controlling the body constitution. The longer the student’s sedentary living time is at school days and after school, the higher his/her body fat ratio is. On holidays, the longer the student’s sedentary living time is, his/her BMI value is higher. From this study, it is suggested to advocate the student’s healthy position plan, the focus of which can start with such aspects as activating the function of the school’s work team and the setup of the family supportive and monitoring system.
