Summary: | 碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 華語文教學碩士學位學程 === 100 === This study aimed to discuss the Mandarin vocabulary learning effects of using multimedia assisted instruction with the assistance of ASSURE model and Vietnamese students were the study subjects, so as to understand the difficulty that these Vietnamese students encountered and their learning effects during the learning progress of multimedia assisted instruction. In order to reach the above-mentioned study purposes, this study made use of qualitative research, including methods such as interviewing, participant observation, and document analysis to investigate 11 Vietnamese students for three months. The study result showed that the use of multimedia assisted instruction could promote learners’ speed of understanding and memorizing the vocabulary and transfer of learning during simulated scenario was also shown. Moreover, the test results of most students showed significant improvement after using multimedia assisted instruction. However, some difficulties were encountered during the learning process, such as too much English content in the multimedia teaching materials was not necessarily helpful, students felt lonely easily because the use of multimedia to practice by themselves after class led to insufficient interaction with teachers and classmates, and students would be influenced and distracted by other information from the Internet if the students had weak initiative and will power.
