Then, it analyzes the differences between the perceived surplus stress and coping strategies over personal and school environmental variables. Further, it attempts to explore the relationships between the perceived surplus stress and coping strategies. The method in this study was questionnaire survey. The researcher adopted the stratified random sampling and selected the public elementary school teachers in Pingtung County as the subject. In this study, the researcher developed “The Perception of the Elementary School Teachers in Pingtung County of the Surplus Stress and Coping Strategies ” as a tool of investigation. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS17.0 and the retrieved efficient samples were statistically processing by using measures of descriptive statistics,one- way ANOVA, Pearson’s product-moment correlation and multiple regression analysis and so on. The findings of this study were concluded as follows: 1.The current condition on the perceived surplus stress of the elementary school teachers in Pingtung County reaches middle-high level. Among the dimensions, the dimension of educational policy reformation shows the highest, whereas the dimension of school environmental variables and uncertainty shows the lowest. 2.The coping strategies used by the elementary school teachers in Pingtung County is middle level. Among the dimensions, the dimension of problem solving is the highest, whereas the dimension of escaping postpone is the lowest. 3.Age,working years, career years in school, school scales and school locations have significant difference in the perceived surplus stress among elementary school teachers in Pingtung County. 4.Gender, career years in school, school scales, school locations and surplus experiences have significant difference in the surplus stress of coping strategies among elementary school teachers in Pingtung County . 5.There is a significant relationship between the perceived surplus stress and coping strategies among elementary school teachers in Pingtung County .
