This study uses the questionnaire, and takes the self-edited “The Interpersonal Relationship and Self-concept Scale for the 5th and 6th Grade Elementary School Students in Kaohsiung City” as tools to carry out the general survey to 1262 students of grades 5th and 6th in 2011 academic year in Kaohsiung City. The results are analyzed with descriptive statistics, T-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson Product-moment correlation, and Stepwise Regression Procedure. The major findings of the study are as follows: 1.The development of interpersonal relationship and self-concept for the 5th and 6th grade elementary school students in Kaohsiung City was fine. 2.There were significant differences in gender, grade, family structure, family economic situation and mother''s nationality in the interpersonal relationships of the 5th and 6th grade elementary school students in Kaohsiung City. The number of children was no significant difference in the overall relationship, but had significant differences in "peer relationships", and the number of children of three or more children significantly better than two the number of children in the family. Different types of schools was no significant difference in the overall relationship, but had significant differences in the "family relationship", and general type of school students is superior to the type of remote school students. 3.There were significant differences in family structure and family economic situation in the self-concept of the 5th and 6th grade elementary school students in Kaohsiung City.Two-parent families better than single-parent or other families, and did not receive assistance'' children better than who had received assistance. Gender was no significant difference in the overall self-concept, but had significant differences in "Physiological self" and boys significantly higher than girls. 4.There was significant high degree of positive correlation between interpersonal relationships and self-concept of the 5th and 6th grade elementary school students in Kaohsiung City. 5.The interpersonal relationships of the 5th and 6th grade elementary school students in Kaohsiung City with significant predictive power to their self-concept, and one of the most predictive variables is the "peer relationships".
