Summary: | 博士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 教育行政研究所 === 100 === This research aims at investigating the correlation between power utilization by the principal of an elementary school and the organizational climate of a school, and the political behavior of the deans of office and the decision-making participation of the teachers are taken as the intervening variables. In this study, teachers in 241 municipal elementary schools of Kaohsiung City are used as the research targets, and teachers of 66 municipal elementary schools are sampled for questionnaire survey, and a total of 734 questionnaires are issued, the questionnaires are then returned, reviewed and summarized, and the effective survey questionnaires are 684 copies, that is, the return rate is 93.1%, and the utilized research tool is ”Questionnaire of the correlation between power utilization by the principal of an elementary school and the organizational atmosphere of a school- the political behavior of the deans of office and the decision-making participation of the teachers are taken as the intervening variables”. The survey questionnaire data is then tested with its research hypotheses using statistical methods such as Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient, one-way MANOVA and structural equation modeling, and the result is used as reference for explaining the data. According to literature survey and questionnaire survey result, the following conclusions are obtained in this research:
1. The power utilization by the principal has negative influence on the political behavior of the deans of office.
2. The power utilization by the principal shows respective positive influence on the decision-making participation of the teachers and the organizational climate of the school.
3. The decision-making participation has positive and significant influence on the organizational climate of the school.
4. The decision-making participation is the intervening factor of the power utilization by the principal and the organizational climate of a school.
5. The political behavior of the deans of office is not the intervening factor of the power utilization by the principal and the organizational climate of the school.
6. The decision-making participation of the teachers can enhance organizational climate of the school.
7. Political behavior of the deans of office and the decision-making participation have significant interaction effect on the power utilization by the principal and organizational climate of the school.
8. Very significant cause-and-effect relation exists among the power utilization by the principal, political behavior of the deans of office, the decision-making participation of the teachers and organizational climate of the school.
9. Teachers of different educational background, different job function, different school scale and teachers of different principal’s accumulated years of experiences in the school show differences in the perception of the strategy for utilizing power.
10. Teachers of different genders, educational background, accumulated working years and job functions show differences in the perception of the political behavior of the deans of office.
11. Teachers of different genders, school scales and of different principal’s accumulated working years in the school show differences in the perception of the decision-making participation.
12. Teachers of different genders, job functions and of principal of different accumulated working years in the school will show differences in the perception of organizational climate of the school.
According to this research result, suggestions are provided respectively for practical applications and future research directions.
