Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 音樂學系 === 100 === This thesis consists of two parts, concerning the solo recital and the performance recital respectively. The program and the program notes are included in both parts. The solo recital consists if seven compositions. The first piece is Prelude and Fugue in C Minor, BWV 871 from Well-Tempered Clavier Vol. I by J. S. Bach. The prelude is in two-voiced texture using double counterpoint, and the fugue is in four-voiced texture. The second piece is Piano Sonata No. 32 in C Minor, Op. 111 by L. v. Beethoven. In this late Beethoven sonata, the musical ideas are developed through motives with extreme economy. The third piece is Ballade in G Minor Op. 23, by F. Chopin. The piece was composed from 1831 to 1835, when Poland was invaded by Russian forces. The fourth, fifth and sixth compositions are Voiles (Prelude, Book I, No. 2), La cathédrale engloutie (Prelude, Book I, No. 10) and Bruyères (Prelude, Book II, No. 5) by C. Debussy. They are pentatonic scale, whole-tone scale and modal scale respectively. The seventh composition is Piano Sonata No.1 in F Minor, Op.1 by S. Prokofiev. The piece is an early work by Prokofiev which has strong ties with the Romantic Era. The performance recital consists of two compositions. The first piece is Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor, Op. 18 by S. Rachmaninoff. This piece was composed after his recovery from his illness during the premiere of his Symphony No. 1. The second piece is Hungarian Dances Nos. 1-10, Woo.1 for piano, four hands, by Brahms. The Dances present Hungarian rhythmic and melodic characteristics.
