Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate risk factors of the workplace bullying for the long-term care nurse in Taiwan’s long-term care facilities, and confirm the relationship between bullying in the nursing school and bulling in the long-term care workplace. 2. Materials and Methods Data used in this study were collected by the survey from the Department of Health nursing continuing education programs in 2010. Four types of analytical framework (including generalized victim vs. its counterpart, true victim vs. its counterpart, true victim vs. neutral, generalized victim vs. neutral) were defined to estimate Logistic regression model, and these estimates allow us to explore the impact of some risk factors on workplace bullying. 3. Results Our results showed that (1) no matter which type of analytical framework was choosen, the positive relationship between school bullying and workplace bullying was found to be statistically significant at the conventional significance level. (2) no matter which type of analytical framework was choosen, the impact of age on the workplace bullying was found to be significantly negative at the conventional significance level. (3) no matter which type of analytical framework was choosen, those who belong to a high neuroticism (openness) group, defined from the BIG 5 personality traits, are more likely to be bullied in the workplace than their counterparts. (4) The low professional level of nurses are less likely to be bullied than its counterpart under the the analytical framework of generalized victim v.s. and neutral. 4. Conclusion The study investigated the relationship between school bullying and workplace bullying for the first time in Taiwan. According to our empirical results, the personality traits and workplace environment are important factors to influence the appearance of workplace bullying. In addition to these two factors, the school bullying also play an important role to impact workplace bullying positively. Therefore, the reduction of the incidence of workplace bullying should prevent bullying from nurse schools. Wen-Yi Chen 陳文意 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 150 zh-TW |

1. Objectives:
The purpose of this study is to investigate risk factors of the workplace bullying for the long-term care nurse in Taiwan’s long-term care facilities, and confirm the relationship between bullying in the nursing school and bulling in the long-term care workplace.
2. Materials and Methods
Data used in this study were collected by the survey from the Department of Health nursing continuing education programs in 2010.
3. Results
Our results showed that (1) no matter which type of analytical framework was choosen, the positive relationship between school bullying and workplace bullying was found to be statistically significant at the conventional significance level.
4. Conclusion
The study investigated the relationship between school bullying and workplace bullying for the first time in Taiwan.
