Construct paradigm of qualitative research was adopted in this study. Through purposeful sampling, two female and two male participants with psychiatric disability with mean age of thirty-three year-old were recruited in this study. The years of employee in our participants were from eleven months to nine years. Based on Hermeneutic methodology, thematic analysis was conducted to analyze the qualitative data by in-depth interviews and filed notes. Inner energy, autonomy and inspiration by support were the nature of hope experienced by our participants. Hope came up during rehabilitation after active treatment for psychotic symptoms. When participants gained stronger confidence after rehabilitation, they were more likely to accept and arrange their own life. Medical care and routine outpatient visits had the most impacts on development of hope and followed by positive thinking. The resource of hope was a stable job. Interacting with hope-inspiring professionals were just like experiences with a soul-mate who is touching and has emotional connection. They restarted to regained selves and be empowered. Via professional assistants, the participants were lead to obtain right information, to find directions and goals. Ideal traits and capacities of professional could contribute to development and maintenance of hope, including acceptance and caring, trust, self-disclosure and humor, whereas coercion and confrontation could obstruct the development and maintenance of hope. Briefly speaking, our results echoed previous studies that hope is about strength and empowerment. It is very important to emphasize facilitation and maintenance of hope in further rehabilitation program. Empirical evidence should be proved in further study.
