I love photograph and realistic painting, so I want to combine both of them to explore
the interest of artwork. This series of works were made between 2009 and 2012 while I studied the master degree. The contents include my narration and creation concept, thoughts and values. With several dimensions of the concept and narration, it helps me to discuss and
value my artwork.
I am interested in knowing the relationships between “photograph” and “realistic
painting.” By collecting the resources and analyzing the data, I want to explore the process of painting forms after the invention of cameras. It brings me inspiration and
changes.
After analyzing the idea of my artwork, I focused on the comparison between the
painting and photograph. I took photos and combined them with traditional painting skills which come out to be a new art style. And use the concept of Deconstruction to view my artwork. By words and practice, I analyze my series of artwork- the Angel,
and bring up the future developing direction of my creation.
The content and structure of the thesis are - Introduction: Explaining the motive
and purpose, research approach, forms and media of creation. Chapter one: Document discussion, including historical origin and the development of realistic painting and photography. Chapter two: The creation concept of the artwork- the Angel. Chapter three: Discussion on the artwork- the combination of painting and photograph. Conclusion: The reflection on my artwork- to bring up the future plan of creation.
