In this study, questionnaires are the main research method and then the study samples focus on the Social workers who live in Kaohsiung and Pingtong area. A total of 520 questionnaires, 503 valid questionnaires are reached, the available rate is 98.24%. The uesed questionnaires are both of "Social worker's Self-directed Learning Scale" and "Social worker's Professional Growth Scale". In order to analyze the data from the adopted questionnaires, all of the used methods are descriptive statistics, t-test, product-moment correlation, one-way ANOVA and two-way ANOVA. Valid data is statistically analyzed and summarized; the main finding conclusions are as following: 1. "Love to learn" is the most significant factor of the social worker's self-directed Learning in Kaohsiung and Pingtong Area. 2. " Professional attitude" is the most significant factor of the social worker's professional growth in Kaohsiung and Pingtong Area. 3. The social worker's age, marital status, years of service and job title on the self-directed learning have significant differences. 4. The social worker's age, marital status, education level, years of service and job title in the professional growth have significant differences. 5.Social worker's self-directed learning and professional growth are significantly related;"Love to learn "and" the overall level of the professional growth" have high correlation. 6.The different ages, education level and years of service in Social worker's self-directed learning have Significant differences in professional growth . Finally, based on the finding conclusions and suggestion, in the study, we would like to serve as a reference for the social welfare institutions in Kaohsiung and Pingtong Area and the Social workers. Finally, based on the finding conclusions and suggestion, in the study, we would like to serve as a reference for the social welfare institutions in Kaohsiung and Pingtong Area and the Social workers.
