It reached to the summit –Golden Age in 1998, when the novel “The First Close Touch” written by CAI,ZHI-HENG caused quite a stir on the Internet from which it won grand victory in the paper book market. Although the wave of the Internet novel has gradually fallen down so far, it still plays an important role in the reading among the teenage students. The Internet novel features colloquial words, interesting dialogues and living contents, and it also attracts most of the readers on the Internet. Nevertheless, due to the lack of literary check, leading to uneven works and many problems such as insufficient literature, full of coarse language and inadequate profundity, which are the existing secret worries and the main cause that has not been able to receive the positive evaluations from the traditional literature. Because the writing of the Internet novel has not been able to get rid of the negative impression, the teachers in senior high school usually regards the Internet novel as harm for composition. Though, the fascination from the Internet novel has been around the campus in senior high school, which causes a wave of reading. Based on the reading trend and the 2nd grade students from two senior high schools in Jia-li district, Tainan, this study conducted the survey and statistics analysis. By the objective data and the current condition of reading Internet novel in senior high school, it is better understanding that the Internet novel reading motive and behavior of the students in junior high school, and that the influence on students’ psychology, life and studying by the Internet novel. This study discovered that the senior high students began reading Internet novel in junior high school, and that they spent less one hour reading it by means of desktop or notebook. They surf the writers’ blogs (web logs), and choose the Internet novels based on “the favorite kinds of novels.” Both teenage girls and boys are fond of the romance novels, and their favorite Internet novel authors are JIOU BA-DAU, TENG,JING-SHU, and YU,WO in order. The teenage boys have much closer interaction with the Internet community than the girls, and the former pay less attention to the study than the latter because of reading Internet novels. The vocational high school students are more frequent and stronger in Internet community interaction, reading motivation and reading influence than the students in senior high and comprehensive high school. In addition, the success or failure in study can not make the difference among the Internet community interaction, reading motivation and reading influence. Therefore, if based on the students’ interest in reading Internet novels, the teachers may choose the excellent Internet novels as Chinese outside reading materials, lead the students to appreciate the good qualities in Internet novels, which may strengthen students’ learning motivation. What’s more, the teachers may encourage the students to publish articles or essays , and to make the interaction with the Internet novel writers, which may be an effective way to improve students’ writing ability. 顏美娟 2012 學位論文 ; thesis zh-TW
